On their own, Sir and Lady Tjandra, having built up their retail trade business was expanding into other business ventures such as Vanilla beans buying, importing and extraction, foam and mattress manufacturing, garments manufacturing, hotel operations, real estate business interests, the organization came to be known as the Papindo Group of Companies. The Tjandras wanted to venture into the road construction and engineering business and established Hyper Construction Limited. Fate would have it that Shorncliffe came their way so in May 2007, the Tjandras added Shorncliffe to the Papindo Group. Upon acquiring the company, the new Shareholders took stock of what the Company has. It has a good reputation within the construction industry and is well known to the donor agencies as a reliable and highly qualified contractor. However it was limited with resources and consequently in its capacity to get work. To augment this shortcoming, the new shareholders invested heavily in plant and equipment and recruited highly qualified engineers, technicians and other staff. It also enhanced its management base to create a flat organization where everyone is accountable to everyone. Today, the Company is the only contractor with 2 asphalt plants, more than 20 crushers, and a fleet of vehicles and road equipment to handle more than 20 contracts at any given time.
