Shenkin is a family business that was established in 2007. Arie and Bosmat Haikin left Israel and came to Australia so their children had the opportunities for a better future. When their oldest son graduated High School, they packed up their life and immigrated to Australia with four kids aged 18, 16, 14 and 10. Arie and Bosmat had 30 years of exp... erience in hospitality and they were naturally drawn to the food industry in Australia too. Arie left school at the age of 13 to work and take care of his family in Israel. It was his experience in kitchens as Chef and Owner of a large function centre, that honed his passion and drive for the food service industry - a passion that has been delighting Australian café goers for over 10 years. As a family business the kids have always been an integral part of the growth and running of the stores. Together they managed their flagship store in Erskineville. With strong ambition, their combined experience and parental guidance, the Erskineville store became recognised and celebrated - not only by the local inner city community, but from all around Sydney. After a lot of love, hard work, success and happy customers, Shenkin opened more stores across Sydney and expanded its brand to five stores (and counting!). There is a saying, "It's not a Business - it's the Art of the Heart". Shenkin demonstrates this commitment through cooking with fresh and natural ingredients.
