In recent years, we have maintained a strong ewe base with only 420 selected breeding ewes. We aim to breed strong lines of consistently productive bloodlines that meet todays market and are ready for future commercial lamb trends. Our strong ewe base and excellent stud sire selection over the years has produced larger meatier rams with high growth... , whilst maintaining a structurally sound confirmation. We only run stud Poll Dorsets on the property and have done so for over 35 years now, thus enabling us to run a clean healthy flock. We have always shown our stud stock in the show ring and believe it is a great way of showcasing our product to fellow breeders and prime lamb producers. It is also the only way of comparing stud stock visually and it gives us (as a breeder) a good measure stick. Our stud stock have been awarded Champion and Reserve Champions over the years at many shows we have attended; including the Australian Sheep and Wool Show, Hamilton Sheepvention, Ballarat Sheep Show and more recently the largest Poll Dorset show in Australia, the Australasian Dorset Championships Show and Sale held at Bendigo in September of each year. In 2014 Shearwell Australia came on board with us and became our major sponsor. We thank Brendan and the team for their support and look forward to a long association with them. Not only do we use Shearwell SET tags, we also find the retention rate to be better and the tags are easy to use and much faster to apply in the ears due to their one piece action.
