With a special focus on women of color, SheChef aims to bridge the gender and race gap in the culinary industry. Beyond providing hands-on learning experiences in the kitchen, SheChef teaches professionals about the business behind culinary arts and provides information on the latest scholarships, internships and job opportunities for women to reac... h their full potential. Founded by Culinary Maverick, Food Stylist and Social Entrepreneur, Elle Simone, SheChef also hosts exclusive events such as the Cast Iron Supper Club, a pop-up fine dining experience and fundraising initiative celebrating women chefs of the African Diaspora. It's just not about food, it's an experience through culture and tradition. SheChef events feature everything from the best and brightest chefs a city has to offer to local food with global flavor. Established on the belief that by eating locally we can create a greater connection between ourselves and our food sources, SheChef educates guest about industrialized and processed foods and ways to support their local economy. Although there are many talented black restaurateurs, chefs, and caterers around the world, rarely do these chefs in the culinary industry get the spotlight. SheChef is looking to change this paradigm with the "Brown Chef Chronicles"-a social media campaign spotlighting the culinary excellence of women of color. On a mission to inspire and connect culinary leaders, SheChef uses the hashtag #BrownChefChronicles on Instagram and Snapchat, to give followers a behind the scenes look at culinary influencers, global tastemakers, brands and organizations in the food world.
