Share Hope is a Foundation (non-profit) that entirely owns a socially-responsible apparel sourcing agency (for-profit subsidiary). What do we do? Share Hope, Inc. obtains and places contracts for apparel production. All profits then go directly to fund the Foundation, who implements a number of social projects to benefit the garment workers. What do we believe? We believe that Haiti can produce high quality and high value products, and that creating decent and productive jobs is the best way to improve the livelihoods of Haitian women and men. The idea of Share Hope was born in Haiti after visits by its founders in 2008. It was legally established in 2010 and is comprised of a Foundation and a for-profit subsidiary. The Share Hope Foundation is a 501C3 non-profit organization incorporated under the law of the State of New York, while Share Hope, Inc. is a wholly-owned for-profit subsidiary corporation owned by Share Hope Foundation. This dual structure allows Share Hope to improve the lives of workers both by creating decent jobs and by providing much needed social services to workers in the garment industry. As a sourcing agent, we obtain contracts for the production of garments and other apparel from manufacturers, principally in the United States, and source the production of such garments in developing countries. In this way we attract clients to countries such as Haiti and promote increased value-added and better work. To learn more about our unique structure, please click here.Read More
