Shakers and Movers Educational

The Shakers and Movers Educational (SAME)Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in 2010. In 2013 we partnered with the Rixon OC Educational Global Network (ROCEGN) to undertake the global arm of the foundation resulting in a partnership in Jamaica. The decision was to serve children from single mothers who are struggling financially to... assist their children through school. In 2014 we formalized a working relationship with a local community in Jamaica, Airy Castle to assist students to matriculate high school. The initiative was personal because it is Dr. Rixon O. Campbells own journey being raised by a single mother. We continue to believe that education and mentorship of young under-privileged youths can be the gateway to a brighter future, consequently bringing about the greatest social changes for generations. We are dedicated to promoting the empowerment of youths to become productive citizens. We strive for excellence, integrity, and equality. The foundation's goal is to provide the best resources available for youths and communities we work with. Education is a tool for success and making informed decisions. Our pillars are education, entrepreneurship, healthcare, and social justice. In the USA we are assisting young African American males in their personal development and navigating racial issues through workshops and community-based partnerships drawing on the book "The Fear of a Father: can we save our sons?". At this juncture in American history, racial tension is troubling. African American males are disproportionately incarcerated, and high school drop-out at an all-time high we are playing an integral role in making a difference. Our focus is on developing young men to be confident, self-aware, and educated individuals who strengthen communities and society at large.
