The Seymour family has long been involved in racing. Bob began his racing career in a quarter midget at age four. He campaigned USAC Sprint and Silver Crown cars owned by his father, the late Boston Louie Seymour, in the 1970s and 1980s. The team captured more than thirty USAC feature wins and a USAC Silver Crown Series Championship. Bob began competing in the Northeast Midget Association ( NEMA ) Series in 1985. He has accumulated 26 feature wins and a driving championship. In NEMA, he is still an active driver and board member. In USAC, he is co-owner and team manager for the Seymour Silver Crown car .
