About SETTE
SETTE was founded in 1979 by a group of cable distributors looking to increase the quantity of francophone TV programming that was available for their subscribers. Their first step was the creation of the TVFQ 99 channel. For many years, the company focused on programming, broadcasting, television standards conversion and the distribution of TVFQ 99, which was later replaced by TV5 in 1988. Since then, SETTE has diversified its operations and now offers a wide range of television-related services. Today, its clientele includes an increasingly varied group of broadcasters, producers and distributors. SETTE has continued to innovate throughout its almost 30-year history. In addition to implementing the first private standards conversion service in Canada, it created the first satellite television service in Ku band to be broadcast to cable systems.
