Servi-Tech Controls, Inc. has offered full automation systems to our California based customers since 1978. Servi-Tech Controls, Inc. was established in 1975 as a temperature control systems contractor. Based in Bakersfield, California, Servi-Tech at its beginnings served primarily Kern County. Servi-Tech Controls was incorporated in California in... 1978. When the present ownership took over in 1978, Servi-Tech began its expansion throughout central California. In 1979, an office was added in Fresno, extending service north to Modesto. The corporate office is located at 2480 So. Cherry Ave., in Fresno. The next few years brought more expansion to Servi-Tech. The number of Servi-Tech employees grew from under fifteen to over seventy-five. Annual sales volume grew from six million to just over ten million in 1995. 1995 brought some significant changes for Servi-Tech. When the Siebe Corporation purchased Robertshaw Controls and Barber-Colman Controls, Servi-Tech became the sole representative for both Robertshaw and Barber-Colman. Our new area encompassed Modesto to Bakersfield and to Ventura on the coast. In 1990, Servi-Tech expanded into lighting retrofit projects. Since our company's main customer base is educational institutions and hospitals, it was a natural transition. Our projects ranged from small lamp and ballast change outs, to completely engineered new fixture installations. The installations ranged from $20,000 to over $600,000 and included complete school districts and hospitals. Each project completed required monitoring and verification. As a result the Energy Services / Performance Contracting Department was created. This department was formed in 1992 and allowed us to enter into Performance Contracts. These design-build projects required mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and sheet metal expertise as well as other miscellaneous trades.
