About Scrub Med
Scrub Med is synonymous with fashionable health care apparel. We were founded in 1989 out of the need to outfit health care professionals in comfortable, durable clothing. Scrub Med's unique prints have revolutionized the dress codes of numerous institutions and clinics. This year Scrub Med celebrates 15 years of bringing its distinctive uniforms to nurses, dentists, doctors and vets in the USA and around the world. Joan Burns, RN, founder and president of Scrub Med is a graduate of Oregon Health Sciences University School of Nursing. Early in her career as cardiac recovery room nurse, Joan recognized the need for updating the hospital attire. White, she thought, was such an impractical, sterile color.
