Science Society

The Science Society (SciSoc) is a volunteer-based student society here to support you during your time at Waterloo. As an undergraduate Science student, you are already a member! Other Waterloo undergraduate students are welcome to join SciSoc as a social member by paying the society fee. Our activities span both the academic and social aspects of... student life and members enjoy events & services made available through the society. We strive to create opportunities for personal and professional development. We aim to complement formal education with exciting challenges outside of class. All members are encouraged to participate in planning, organizing and managing our activities. The society communicates the opinions of Science students on various levels within the Federation of Students (FEDs) and the University of Waterloo. University-related concerns should be directed to the Science Society Executives for further investigation. We work alongside the FEDs Science Councillors and Science Senator to ensure a positive university experience for all students. SciSoc is officially mandated: a) To provide a channel of communication between the faculty and the undergraduate body of the Faculty of Science of the University of Waterloo. b) To encourage, support and provide a channel of communication between the Departmental Clubs of the Faculty of Science of the University of Waterloo. c) To continuously initiate, encourage and support academic, social and athletic activities within the Faculty of Science of the University of Waterloo. d) To promote, in general, the interests and welfare of the undergraduate body of the Faculty of Science of the University of Waterloo. e) To encourage and provide a channel of communication between the undergraduate body of the Faculty of Science and (but not limited to) the Federation of Students, all other faculties on campus, the Graduate Students Association, University of Waterloo's residences, affiliated colleges and any of its community partners.Read More
