Founded by S.Z. Schutte in 1880, Schutte Lumber Company remained a family owned operation and managed trust until 1880, when it was purchased by Daniel C. Fuhrman. On July 1st 2014, Michael D. Fuhrman purchased the business to continue the family owned tradition of Schutte Lumber Company. Douglas Fir and Western Red Cedar timbers are supplied to lumber dealers throughout the Midwest. And with a complement of boards and dimension lumber in many species and sizes to complete the sale, Schutte Lumber Company can meet the company's customer's needs right out of the company's 13 acre lumberyard. Schutte Lumber Company has an on-site mill that specializes in matching patterns that are hard to find, as well as producing stock patterns that are used in many applications. Most patterns can be produced in nearly every specie of hardwoods or softwoods in the company's inventory, or if the company do not have the one you want, the company can order it. Schutte Lumber Company buys from the highest quality producers of lumber products, to assure that the company provides the company's customers with the finest from the forest. But having a large inventory alone has not brought Schutte Lumber Company the success the company has enjoyed for over 135 years.
