Established in 2009. Let us travel back in time when Josh Weinzettel was a student at St John's University and a member of their Entrepreneurial program.... "They wanted us to write business plans and launch businesses by graduation. My mom had always wanted to own an ice cream parlor so I wrote a business plan for one. I then presented my business... plan to Pat Regan developer and landlord of Schoolhouse Square and he gave me the green light. I had grown up eating ice cream at Treat Me Sweet and wanted to provide the same atmosphere of hard served ice cream to Hastings. We launched the business in April 2009, taking over the space from Grand Ole Creamery". At that time Schoolhouse Scoop was a seasonal ice cream parlor open from April-October each year.
