Scholars for Change

Scholars for Change, a non-profit organization is a vision birthed by Dr. Rosie McNutt Holden, a previous educator at a local disadvantaged hospital in Los Angeles County. Dr. Holden researched the various needs of at-risk students and their inner-city community educational needs pertaining to student transitions to higher learning institutions. Wh... at was found was a gap in knowledge of academic transitional processes in our youth. For the past 20 years, Dr. Holden has assisted in the academic success of students in leadership using academic pathways in mentorship and academic guidance. Dr. Holden currently serves as CEO/Executive Director of Scholars for Change Organization. She holds a Doctor of Education (EdD) with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership and Organizational Development from Grand Canyon University, a Masters Degree in Organizational Management with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration from Ashford University, and a Bachelors Degree in Organizational Leadership from Biola University. Dr. Holden has worked with the youth as a Youth Director, mentor and Scholarship Director in her local church. As a result, several scholarships were awarded to students to assist with books and tuition. Also, in the work environment, Dr. Holden worked in the Education Department in a local hospital in a disadvantaged community for over 12 years, providing excellent academic pathways to nursing students in their quest to complete their academic pathways at higher learning institutions.
