We were founded in 1991. At that time, we were one of the first purely prototype producing companies in Europe with some of the most modern Rapid Prototyping manufacturing processes. We have consistently remained amongst the market leaders of the German prototyping industry by introducing new technologies and growing rapidly. In 2008 a dual strateg... ic realignment occurred. On one side, our clients increasingly relocated their manufacturing sites, as well as their research development centers, to low-wage countries. This involved Central Europe and China in particular, later on also increasingly India. We made the decision to accompany our clients in these endeavours and to become active in these countries too. On the other side, particularly for our large clients, international collaboration between the development centres increased. It made sense to broaden our integration of the newly established branches with the European product development centres too. The first of these branches was founded in 2009 in Shanghai, China. The fully incorporated subsidiary began as a sales- and procurment branch and has now grown to incorporate its own production facilities to serve local clients and manufacture tools for the Schneider Group. In April 2009 Schneider took over and fully integrated the nationally recognized low-volume manufacturer Martello in Poole, England into the Schneider Group. As of 2010, Schneider Hungary is represented by a production facility focused on plastics in the city of Miskolc, which has grown out of a take over of the Hungarian company KEC Engineering. The youngest member of the Schneider Group is Schneider India, based in New Delhi. It was established through the acquisition of the Craftech-Group and has taken up production as of April 2012.
