About Schmitt
Schmitt & Co has been in the self storage business since 1978 when we developed our first self storage facility. One of our main strengths is that we are small, very hands-on. For example, our ratio of properties per site supervisor at full capacity will be 8 to 1. That is a low ratio for the industry and it allows us to spend a lot of time with each property. Our staff, pictured here, is a well qualified group of very competent people from varied but related backgrounds. Paul Schmitt, our CEO, has a 40 year background in small company management, finance and marketing. Debbie Jirasek, our general manager and site supervisor, has a strong background in sales and marketing from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. Kathy Gibbons, our accounting manager and resident MBA, has a 15-year background in all areas of real estate accounting operations as well as portfolio/asset management.
