Sassin & Associates was founded in Tulsa Oklahoma as a private practice in 1996 by John Sassin that specialized in providing rehabilitation counseling and assessment services for people with disabilities. The initial year we approached the Department of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) in Oklahoma to assist in developing a relationship to expand these... services for their agency. Since, Dr. Sassin had been involved in training VR counselors in the affects of Traumatic Brain Injury we were familiar with each other's agencies. However, it was not for another year that we were able to develop a contractual relationship. Sassin and Associates was one of the original provides for Milestone System now in use widespread throughout the state. Sassin and Associates became incorporated into Comprehensive Community Rehabilitation Services (CCRS) in 1997. CCRS was a program that specialized in the treatment of people with brain injury. S&A was the vocational component of the program. We became a free standing program and incorporated in 2003. In 2005 we expanded our services to include Oklahoma City. Currently we operate in Tulsa and have recently expanded to Stillwater as part of our Tulsa office. Sassin and Associates is an agency that provides and variety of services: Assessment, Job Readiness Training and Placement and Follow-up for people with disabilities. Our Clients have invisible or visible disabilities. Our services over the years have grown to accept challenging behaviors and life circumstance in our client's lives. In 2000 we were the first recipients of the Hubert Byrd Rehabilitation Professional Award by the State of Oklahoma; the first private practitioner to receive this prestigious award.
