Sarcoma

Sarcoma is a group of rare and often aggressive primary bone and soft tissue tumours. 350 people in Western Australia were diagnosed with a sarcoma in 2016. Sarcomas often occur in children, adolescents and young adults and women over the age of 55 and 40% of people diagnosed will not survive five years post diagnosis. Often dismissed in young peop... le as growing pains or sporting injuries, delayed diagnosis is a contributing factor to poorer outcomes. Ultimately, we would hope to make all sarcomas curable. Sock it to Sarcoma! raises funds to support medical research in Western Australia, promotes awareness and educates the community about sarcomas. We also provide patients and their families support and care throughout every aspect of their sarcoma journey. Sock it to Sarcoma! was first established in 2012 in partnership with Hollywood Private Hospital Research Foundation and became its own independent charitable entity in December 2015.
