As a Eucharistic Parish in the Catholic Tradition, formed by Gospel Faith in the Lordship of Jesus, we are called by the Holy Spirit to build the Body of Christ through prayer, evangelization, teaching, and loving service to our neighbor, and through Word and Sacrament in worship of God as we await the return of our Savior. Mission Statement of Par... ish Sacrament of Baptism: Generally Baptisms are celebrated on the first Sunday of the month or at a mutually convenient time set by the pastor/deacon and parents. Parents must be registered in the parish, practicing their faith, and committed to raising their child in the Catholic faith in order to have a child baptized. Families from outside the parish must obtain a letter of permission from their proper pastor to have their child baptized at Saint Bernards Parish. Sacrament of Penance: Confessions are heard one hour prior to each weekend Mass, by appointment, or by request. Communal penance services (with additional priests) are celebrated in Advent and Lent. Check the parish bulletin for these dates and times. Sacrament of Matrimony: The preparation time necessary for a couple to be married at Saint Bernards Parish is one year (in accord with Diocesan policy). Contact the Pastor or Deacon at least one year before setting the wedding date to clear the date with the church calendar. Each couple preparing for marriage will also attend a Mentor-Couple Marriage Program which last several months. Anointing of the Sick: Anyone who is sick at home, hospitalized, or in a medical facility can request the celebration of the Sacrament of the Sick.
