Saint Ann School

Saint Ann School provides a faith-based education that encourages students to meet high academic standards and prepares them for the future. The curriculum utilizes a variety of educational methods and maintains a competitive edge among the area's private and public schools. Teachers integrate technology into the classroom with the use of laptops a... nd lessons on computer skills, programming, the Internet, word processing, desktop publishing and video. Saint Ann students learn to exhibit good ethics, stewardship and safety in managing technological resources. As a result of grant initiatives and PTA fundraising that surpassed expectations, funding was recently secured for innovative technology projects vital to Saint Ann's vision for the future. Kim Smith, the technology director, has been coordinating efforts to enhance the school's technology program. She is making great strides to build "Mobile Smart Classrooms," supplementing the school's mobile wireless lab. Laptops were purchased for every classroom to be used by teachers for classroom and individual desktop instruction and as an expansion of current labs. Other technology advancements include a Macintosh computer lab and wireless Internet access in the new Faith Development Center, an interactive "Smart Board, overhead projectors and digital cameras. DVD players in every classroom, plus computer software and online subscriptions, afford students and teachers access to an array of educational media. Parent and student volunteers have been pitching in, reorganizing the school computer lab and rebuilding it with shelving units, among other thoughtful tasks. Excited to share "The Good News of its outstanding educational opportunities, Saint Ann School launched a television commercial that will air on major networks including ABC Family, Food Network, TNT, Lifetime and Nickelodeon.
