Safe Place, Washington County Child Advocacy Center's mission is to provide all reported victims of child sexual abuse in Washington County and their non-offending caretakers with comprehensive forensic interviews, medical treatment, and mental health treatment with a goal of preventing future abuse. At Safe Place we know far too well that children cannot protect themselves from sexual predators and need their families and communities to step in and protect them from abuse. Safe Place investigates more than 200 cases of child sex abuse each year. Supported by the generosity of the United Way, foundations, corporations and individuals as well as government grants, and the Washington County Department of Social Services, Safe Place has 11 years of experience in recognizing, responding to and reporting child abuse and utilizes this experience to conduct these detailed forensic interviews, prepare reports, and testify in criminal and civil proceedings regarding the child's interview, mental development and psychology of disclosures.Read More
