This program is specifically designed to develop, teach and enhance players' individual skill development. This integrated individual player developmental model supports the continuous and progressive growth of players within Hockey Edmonton. A proactive model of player development, the S4 Skills Program goal is to provide supplemental individual s... kills training for players of all ages and abilities. Excellence in on ice performance will be achieved and taught utilizing specific instruction in proper skill and skating techniques. Players will be taught and developed through high quality professional instruction. They will learn techniques properly and develop through correction and reinforcement of individual curricular topics. Skills are the pillars and foundation for development of all hockey players. Technical and tactical skills will be integrated throughout the program, with the primary focus on developing the player's individual skills. Curriculum will consist of: Explosive hockey specific Skating techniques on and off the puck Stickhandling and moves (developing superior puck control and skills) Shooting and Scoring learning proper techniques and practices of how to score and what to do Passing and purposeful puck movement proper team play and sharing the puck Proper and effective hockey and skating specific training Planning for success with key indicators such as player and coaches development Integrated individual player developmental model that supports the continuous and progressive growth of players within Edmonton and area.
