About Rural Connectivity Group

The Rural Connectivity Group (RCG) is an independent entity established to design, build, and maintain a new telecommunications network in rural New Zealand. Appointed by the government, RCG aims to provide 4G wireless broadband and 3G mobile services under the Rural Broadband Initiative 2 and the Mobile Black Spot fund. The project will cover at least 30,000 rural homes and businesses, as well as key rural state highways and tourist hotspots, by December 2017.
