We are Rosso - we run your local buses in Rossendale, Bury and Rochdale with routes as far afield as Bolton, Shaw, Blackburn, Burnley and Todmorden. We're proud of our history, which can be traced back to 1907 with the municipal bus and tram operations of Haslingden Corporation and Rawtenstall Corporation. The last tram ran in 1932, since when our... buses have operated between Accrington and Bacup along the valley. The two operations merged in 1968 to become the Rossendale Joint Transport before the boroughs themselves combined in 1974. Since bus deregulation in 1986, we've been a private limited company called Rossendale Transport Ltd. We operate as arms-length business but are still owned by Rossendale Borough Council and more importantly, the people of Rossendale, which is why we're proud to call ourselves your local buses.
