Room One

Because of the Methow Valley's uniquely isolated location, area men, women, and children in need of critical human services are often left without advocates and vital resources. With limited access to safety net programs, crisis support, and meaningful help, rural communities like ours are susceptible to health disparities, including high rates of... teen pregnancy, domestic violence, substance abuse, and mental health needs. The comprehensive services we provide at Room One are directed at preventing violence and interrupting health disparities in our Methow community and strategically across Okanogan County. Our programs create opportunities for self-determination. We work to restore power and control to those in our community who have too often had power taken away from them-women, immigrant community members, children, the aging and those living with a disability, those who suffered abuse or are living in poverty, and struggling teens. Our staff is trained in advocacy-based counseling, ensuring every person who comes through the door of our comprehensive resource and referral center or works with our staff across Okanogan County is connected with a knowledgeable, compassionate ally.
