Rockfield is an independent high end technology company established since 1985 to provide leading edge numerical based simulation systems, coupled with their industrial applications. The company is now located in the ETHOS Building in Swansea's exciting new SA1 Waterfront development. The company has maintained strong links with the Engineering Fac... ulty at Swansea University. Several segments of the technology have evolved in conjunction with the University, while further links forged with specialised geomechanics departments elsewhere have sharpened and strengthened the company's knowledge within the geomechanics sector. Rockfield has been trusted over many years by an industrially diverse group of international and blue chip clients, partnering with them to find solutions to advanced problems. Our success and growth has hinged on the versatility of working in conjunction with these clients at the cutting edge of numerical analysis and numerical modelling problems, offering key advice and support every step of the way. Fields of work have included geomechanics and hydrocarbon applications, basic engineering, defence, foods, manufacturing and general geotechnical. In addressing these markets, the numerical advances in the ELFEN software have grown, utilising in-house expertise in the fundamentals of numerical developments and in producing Finite Element codes as well as powerful user interfaces. Links to the software and other systems have also been obtainable using this in house knowledge. To meet its objectives, the company is committed to computational developments and technology applications in both existing and emerging disciplines, and the undertaking of collaborative research programmes with industry, universities and research organisations, for specialised or niche applications.
