Robert C Byrd Clinic is a comprehensive not-for-profit Rural Health Clinic committed to providing outstanding primary health care to the residents of the Greenbrier Valley. The clinic opened in 1976 as the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine Clinic, Inc. and was housed in the south wing of WVSOM. It served as a faculty practice and teachin... g site for WVSOM students and professors. In addition to its teaching mission, The WVSOM Clinic, Inc. quickly identified the need for primary health care services in Greenbrier County and began to grow. Thanks to a federal appropriation that was secured by the late Senator Robert C. Byrd in January 1997, The WVSOM Clinic, Inc. relocated to its present location at the north end of the WVSOM campus and officially became known as the Robert C. Byrd Clinic. Since Robert C Byrd Clinic's initial expansion in 1997, RCBC has continued growing by leaps and bounds. The clinic not only provides a site for WVSOM faculty to practice but also allows Robert C Byrd Clinic to conduct research and offer clinical training opportunities for future osteopathic physicians. RCBC offers a wide range of primary care services and extended office hours to meet your needs. Robert C Byrd Clinic's services include family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, pediatric pulmonology, osteopathic manipulative medicine, physiatry, and EMG services, proctology, behavioral health, acute care, diabetic education, medical acupuncture, social services, nutrition services, radiology, and ultrasound. Robert C Byrd Clinic has an on-site laboratory operated by Mako and a satellite clinic located in Rupert, WV. Robert C Byrd Clinic has been designated as a Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
