Robert Agarobe

To present my credentials as a professional tradesman, a successful entrepreneur and an upstanding resident of Port Moresby and Central Province who is now vying for the Central Province Regional Seat. My name is Robert Agarobe. I am 51 years old and of mixed Central and Simbu parentage. My mother is from Kerowagi. My father is part Koiari (Sirinum... u Dam area) and Gabagaba. I was born at Sopas Hospital near Wapenamanda Enga Province. I spent my early childhood years there where my father was a teacher of Sopas T-High School. I am among five other siblings in the family and my mum is a devoted Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Evangelist. My father relocated home from Enga and I grew up in Central Province first spending ten years at Kaparoko, thats around the Beagle bay area. I used to speak their language and I still speak a little of it but I understand all languages in the Beagle Bay area. After, Kaparoko my dad then travelled to Doumagini thats in Sinaugoro and taught there for another three years. My dad then retired as a teacher and we returned to Gabagaba with dad venturing in owning and driving a PMV in Port Moresby. Times were tough and my Simbu mum found a job in Port Moresby as a house maid for an Australian Naval Officer and we lived in East Boroko. At that time life was a little bit difficult for me so we had to be a little bit creative and innovative to make ends meet each day. I was then about 14 years of age. Despite the challenges I finished my primary education at Gabagaba and attended Kwikila High School completing Grade 10. After Kwikila, it was disappointing Id say I scored good grades but I think I used to get into a lot of mischief in school and did not get any offer for further studies. My choices were Sogeri National High School, Port Moresby Technology Technical College to do aircraft engineering and third was to do marine engineering studies in Madang.
