River & Sound Review

A River & Sound Review is produced in partnership with the Puyallup Library. A River & Sound Review: A public reading series (and more) for the Puyallup Community Started in February 2006 by Puyallup teacher and writer Jay Bates, A River & Sound Review is a one-of-a-kind, live literary arts entertainment program intended to feature the work of writ... ers and musicians from Puyallup and and the Puget Sound region. Also designed for the allowance for audience interaction -- via its two "literary game shows," Name That Book and Head to Head Shakespeare Trivia Challenge -- A River & Sound Review succeeds in its efforts to make the literary arts accessible to the public. Currently, A River & Sound Review is produced live three times a year (in November, February, and May) with the hope that additional programs will be added soon. Future and current plans for the program also include: online podcasts of the live shows; bi-monthly studio podcasts featuring interviews and readings by writers from the Puget Sound region; an annual Young Writers Conference for students aged 16 to 22; and, a print journal of the best available fiction, non-fiction, and poetry.
