Steve Auld, who became managing director and majority shareholder of Rivco Ltd in March 1994, explains that new operating methods have been introduced to ensure progress of the above; "The subtle changes that we have made to the business are already making a big difference and we are looking to build on this." Rivco Ltd was established in 1994 by the Roden family, who are still involved within the company. Chris Roden, who started the business, is a non-executive director and shareholder, and Matt Roden, the son of Chris, works within the company and is also a shareholder. Originally Rivco supplied rivets, blind nut products and associated tools; all mainly aimed at end user application processes within the UK. The company served both the UK OEM and MRO markets which allowed it to develop a skill of visiting companies and recommending products for engineering applications. As business opportunities and customer interest changed so did Rivco's target audience. The business now concentrates on being a specialist in the distribution of Huck® fasteners, Huck® bolts (pins and collars), blind rivets, rivet nuts and setting tools; selling its products to other merchants across the UK, as well as exporting to Europe, Turkey, India, America and the Middle East. As the market place starts to find alternatives to the brand leaders, Rivco is aiming to move into the position of selling more products around Europe.
