Riskend Aggregates

Riskend is a privately owned company established in 1967. The company founders initially began as granolithic & plastering contractors and expanded into house building and civil engineering. In the late 60s a hard rock whin quarry was opened near Kilsyth supplying customers with quality whinstone aggregate. In the early eighties the first readymix... plant was installed at the quarry and ongoing expansion led to four readymix plants operating in west central scotland. After two decades of steady growth the readymix division was sold to Lafarge UK in 2004. The company currently operates two dock facilities on the River Clyde shipping in cargos of quality sands and aggregates, predominantely granite from glensanda quarry. Distribution is then provided to a wide range of customers . Both recycling activities and sand & aggregate sales have grown steadily over recent years and Riskend continues to maintain growth while providing service and quality products to new and existing customers.
