RISK has participated at the Inter-African Committee on Traditional Practices Affecting the Health of Women and Children (IAC) conference/General Assembly in 1997 in Dakar, Senegal, at the Second Study Conference on FGM in Europe held in Göteborg, Sweden in 1998, two European Network meetings in Goteborg, Sweden in 2000, workshop and a public meeti... ng on FGM in the House of Parliament in Rome and an International Day against FGM at the European Parliament in Brussels. RISK is one of the founders of the European Network, which was established in November 2000, in Brussels, Belgium. The aim of the European Network is to work closely with all organizations that campaign against FGM and have close contact with organizations in Africa. RISK is also the representative of IAC in Sweden and has a good contact with the IAC office in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. RISK is now in the process of establishing contact with an organization that campaigns against FGM in Mogadishu, Somalia.
