Richmond Township administers General Assistance and Emergency Assistance, as well as Salvation Army Assistance through the Supervisor's Office. Anyone can request and apply, but one of the guidelines limit assistance to the geographical area (residing within Richmond Township). All applicants are required to first complete a General Assistance app. (similar to the DHS form). Forms are available Monday through Friday 7:30am to 2:30pm, or by appointment. Generally it takes 20 to 40 minutes to complete the application along with the necessary verification and disclosure forms. An interview / appointment is scheduled with the supervisor after the completed application is turned-in. From there, Emergency Assistance and Salvation Army applications can be completed.
