About Richmond Chambers

The members of Chambers are trial and appellate advocates with a wide range of experience in all areas of civil, commercial and regulatory litigation. They have appeared in many significant cases before the Courts and before a range of specialist tribunals. Richmond Chambers was founded as a deliberate response to the increasing number of complex disputes demanding specialist representation. Richmond Chambers is named after the Rt Hon Sir Clifford Parris Richmond KBE (2014-1997). Sir Clifford (or Kip as he was more commonly known) was President of the Court of Appeal of New Zealand from 20 May 1976 until 30 April 1981. Kip was appointed to the Supreme Court in 1960, first sitting in Christchurch and then as one of the Judges resident in Auckland. He was appointed to the Court of Appeal in 1972 and succeeded to the Presidency in 1976 on the retirement of Sir Thaddeus McCarthy.Explore more
