Lee would serve as president until November 22, 1785. He was the second of three Virginians to hold the unicameral Presidency. He was described by his peers as tall and graceful in person and striking in feature. His voice was clear and rich, and his oratory impressive. He did not waste time in flowery rhetoric, instead speaking briefly and to the point.
