The Rameys arrived in Vienna in 1977 and after several months of German language school began traveling and working in Romania with the Navigators. Their ministry was characterized by meeting covertly with men and women who carried major responsibilities in their churches. They would spend several days together going over Bible study, principles of... discipleship ministry, leadership and also family and church issues. These men and women would in turn gather a group around them and pass on what they were learning. 1989 was a banner year! The tumbling of the Berlin wall was the beginning of the end for the dictatorial regimes of Eastern Europe.Freedom had come to the nations and with that a whole new era for the church. Along with a continuing work in Eastern Europe a discipling ministry to the lands of Central Asia was also begun in 1991. ResourceLinks was incorporated to serve as the Rameys mission organization.The mission statement is Train the man, to build the church to change the nations.Practically speaking this means the primary focus of ministry takes place in a one-to-one ministry, or in small groups of two to 10. Throughout the years we have found that one-to-one ministry allows for effective training and mentoring of an individual as they grow in the Word, life skills and character. He, or she, in turn is then equipped to train others. Our statement, build the church, should not be understood as building buildings. The church in the New Testament refers to people and not buildings. It is imperative, however, that individual believers be a part of a local body with the goal of worship and to build up the members for ministry to one another and outside the fellowship to the lost. The body will be as strong as its individual members and therefore our ministry is to strengthen the individuals, which strongly affects those they are involved in.
