In 2008, Founder Matt Kesby & Co-Founder Fiona Kesby (A Brother & Sister team), started offshoring tasks via Odesk (now Upwork). They had just raised 2 Million in Angel Investments for their software startup. There were many great success stories and also many frustrations in managing a remote team all working from home. Deadlines missed as VAs whe... re working for other clients, Developers disappearing with code, interruptions due to power outages and internet loss. Not to mention the loss of time training up new team members with each new project. The concept was great but wasnt truly effective. In 2014 consulting as an Execution Practise Leader for Franklin Covey (Well known for the books 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and the 4 Disciplines of Execution & a global leader in effectiveness training, productivity tools, strategy execution consulting and assessment services for organizations and individuals), Matt committed to hiring 1 VA full-time, the experience exceeded his expectations. With his passion for the start-up sector, he wanted all start-ups and SME business owners to have the opportunity to effectively offshore tasks without the high costs of setting up an offshore business or the loss of control via complete outsourcing. In May 2014 he created GO-VA. The office is now led by his sister Fiona Kesby who relocated to the Philippines with her family in May 2015 and brought 16 years of Australian & International Recruitment experience. The philosophy is to offshore repeatable tasks to the Philippines in order to create more time for US, UK & Australian based team members to execute on strategy and scale their business.
