RePlant Malta

RePlant Malta was founded by two friends who became fed up from all the plastic waste around them. Being surrounded by the sea, any waste which is not taken care of can easily contaminate water around us. We also know very well that our environment is at risk, so any non-easily biodegradable material that ends up becoming trash, will remain there p... ermanently. We at RePlant Malta decided that there are alternatives to many single use plastic products which can be made from easily biodegradable materials or even from compostable materials, which in the end only benefits us and the planet. We focus on finding and sourcing items which are sustainable to manufacture while keeping a low cost to the end user and keeping nature in mind. We believe that most single use plastics can be replaced and every little helps. Over the past half a century, global plastic production has multiplied and reached an annual production of 322 million tonnes in 2015. Considering todays growth in this industry, it is being expected that plastic production will double in the 20 years time. In 2015, plastic packaging waste, which is a single-use plastic, amounted to nearly half of the global plastic waste generated. We decided to embark on a mission to offer an alternative to some common items which are often not thought about while theyre being used and this is why RePlant Malta will strive to eliminate the use of single-use plastics in Malta and beyond, by providing affordable alternatives. Single-use plastics are also commonly known as disposable plastics and are plastics manufactured with the intention to be used only once before thrown away or recycled. Their most commonly usage is for plastic packaging. Straws, cutlery, food packaging, bottles and containers are all examples of single-use plastics.
