Reinhard Straub

Reinhard Straub is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Clinical Supervisor (LCDCS). Reinhard has worked in the Substance Abuse and Mental Health field since 1989. Reinhard has developed, initiated & directed numerous substance abuse programs in New York, Connecticut, & Rhode Island. He has served... as a faculty member at Empire State College, State University of New York and has conducted over 1000 clinical interventions while employed by the NY Medical Societys Committee for Physician Health and as a private clinician. In 2011 Reinhard founded Clinical Services of Rhode Island, a system of 3 licensed substance abuse outpatient facilities which was acquired by American Addiction Centers. Reinhard was the Clinical & Business Development Liaison for American Addiction Centers until December 2016. In January 2017, Reinhard returned to private practice with offices in Warwick, RI and New London & Madison, CT. I have been fortunate in my career to have had leadership roles and extraordinary mentors whom I believe have afforded me broad experience and sound preparation for this important role. My career in Mental Health and Substance Abuse began in 1989 after I established my own recovery from addiction in 1987. My first job in the field was at Conifer Park, an inpatient residential substance abuse treatment center located just north of Albany, NY. I spent a unique and unforgettable year at Conifer Park working on the detoxification unit where we worked with not only the typical Alcohol and Opiate Dependent patients but with the first group of patients in New York seeking detoxification from Benzodiazepines (mainly Valium) and Methadone.
