Redstar Transport was formed in August 2013 following the acquisition of the Bunker Freight Lines business from Silk Logistics Group. The Bunker Freight Lines business was founded by Ron Bunker in Adelaide in the early 1970's as an express freight sub-contractor to TNT. Ron successfully grew the business into a national operation which had more tha... n 150 prime movers at the time it was sold to Silk in May 2008. The business operated almost exclusively as a 'wholesaler' of express linehaul services. Bunker Freight Lines' operation is focused on long haul movements enabling its customers to move time-sensitive freight between capital cities. The business' capabilities include single, b-double, b-triple, double road train and (by request), triple road train combinations. Redstar Transport's acquisition of the Bunker Freight Lines business will enable it to return the business focus to servicing the express freight linehaul needs of the freight forwarding sector.
