Redemption Church

In obedience to the Lords leading, St. Johns Park Baptist Church planted Hyde Park Baptist Church in 1951 to reach the people of the west side of Jacksonville in the Hyde Park and Hyde Grove communities. In a few short years, Hyde Park Baptist Church acquired the property located where San Juan and Lane Avenues intersect. Having established this pe... rmanent location where worship would be regularly conducted, major strides were quickly made impacting these communities with the gospel of Jesus Christ. After many years of successful growth, Hyde Park Baptist Church began to experience the effects of sluggish economies and suburban sprawl. Many residents of these communities began to relocate resulting in a lineal decline of membership. With only a few members remaining in 2013, the congregation reached out to the Jacksonville Baptist Association who facilitated direct assistance from Hibernia Baptist Church of Fleming Island. Initially, Hibernia Baptist Church replanted Hyde Park Baptist Church as Hibernia at Hyde Park intending to re-establish it as an autonomous church in the near future. After uniting through much prayer and hard work over a few short years, Redemption Church of Jacksonville was launched in 2017 as a fully autonomous church and maintains the original property where Hyde Park Baptist first began. Through faith in our Lords leading, it is now an essential part of our purpose to plant and re-plant other neighborhood churches making Jesus Christ well known throughout Jacksonville and to the ends of the earth. In obedience to the Great Commission, we exist to redeem the Church and the Community with the gospel by making disciples.
