Red Lotus

Red Lotus is a family owned business run by Leighton Rossi and supported by sister Margaret Nguyen of Café O Mai and mum Kim. From humble beginnings, the family grew up in the working class suburb of Cabramatta in Sydney, now considered the Vietnamese food capital of Australia. Red Lotus first opened in July 2010, ushering a new kind of Vietnamese... restaurant to the Brisbane food scene, one which broke away from the traditional tacky décor, dodgy tables and chairs and lazy uninspiring menus. Since then the restaurant has continued to set the benchmark for what proper authentic Vietnamese food should be in Brisbane, a philosophy heavily influenced by the family's exposure to the Vietnamese food scene in Sydney. In September 2012, the family opened the hugely successful and popular Café O Mai, introducing Brisbane to the phenomenon that is bnh m or Vietnamese baguette.
