Hi, Im Laura and welcome to blog/podcast Why the Book Wins! Where I compare books with their movie adaptations and through these discussions you will hear why, 9 times out of 10, the book wins. Ever since I was a kid I have loved watching movies and reading books. One summer, for out local librarys summer program, we were asked to write a page wher... e we compared a book with the movie version. I chose to write about my then favorite book, Where the Red Fern Grows. I remember writing more than what they had asked of us, and I passionately described why the book was far superior to the movie. Most of the time, thats the case. Its hard for a movie to fit in all that a book contains. Having said that, Hollywood has had some successes. I have always dreamed of a job where watching movies was part of the criteria, and add on reading books would indeed be a plus. I realized that rather than waiting for an opportunity to appear, I can create the opportunity myself. I decided to start a podcast and blog where I can do what I love, just for fun.
