Providing the Best Dental Care to Meet the Needs of Our Patients Dr. Mike and Dr. Cathy are a husband and wife team. Dr. Cathy Deschenes received her degree in Dentistry from the University of Laval in 1999. Dr. Michael Poitras also received his degree in Dentistry from the University of Laval in 2004 after completing his Masters of Science in Bioc... hemistry from Western University. Contrary to what people believe, Mike and Cathy didn't meet in Dental school. They both lived in the same apartment building in Quebec City. At the time, Mike was finishing his degree in Dentistry, and Dr. Cathy was working as an associate in a dental office. Dr. Cathy, the giving person that she is, cooked for Mike during his exams, and the rest is history! They were married in Quebec City and became the lucky parents of their three beautiful children Leanne, Vincent and Yasmine. Dr. Mike, originally from Sudbury, had spent a lot of time as a child in Ottawa and loved it here. They liked the fact Ottawa was mid-way between Quebec City and Sudbury. After bringing Dr. Cathy to Ottawa a few times, she fell in love with the capital city. They then decided to move to Kanata and subsequently to Stittsville. Their practice in Stittsville started in June of 2004 and has grown over the years.
