About Rectory Farm

The Stanley family have been farming Rectory Farm land since 1954, Thomas Stanley was the first tenant until 1983, the year Richard and Carla Stanley took over the land. In 2016, their daughter Imogen started working on the farm and is one of the key figures you may see in the farm shop day-to-day. The Pick Your Own opened for the first time in 1980, with just 1 1/2 acres of strawberries and 1/2 acre of raspberries. Since then the PYO has grown to covering some 45 acres at our main PYO and shop site, and a further 60 acres of asparagus on another site. Our potatoes are sold locally to lots of different farm shops, butchers, delis, pubs and wholesalers throughout Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and beyond. Our small salad potatoes are sold to supermarkets for prepack and we even grown some large potatoes that Mcdonald's use in their chips! You can always pick up a bag from the farm shop or farm yard when we are open. Richard and Carla rent Rectory Farm from New College, Oxford and the adjaRead more

Richard and Carla rent Rectory Farm from New College, Oxford and the adjacent land at Manor Farm in Forest Hill from Lincoln College, Oxford. Rectory Farm has been owned by New College since 1539 and has provided food for the inhabitants of Oxford throughout the ages. Our Pick Your Own has been supported by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. Oxfordshire LEADER funding and the European Union have provided us with funding for our "Fertigation Equipment Project." This new equipment is an upgrade of our existing system that drip feeds all our soft fruit and vegetables installed in April 2020. This new fertigation unit increases productivity of each plant, creates an easier management system, can be controlled remotely and produces a great tasting Strawberry and Raspberry. We can now grow more, better tasting strawberries for even longer - thank you for your support.Read More
