AAAMSA, the Association of Architectural Aluminium Manufacturers of South Africa, was founded in 1974 to develop and expand the use of high quality architectural aluminium products by establishing and enforcing a high level of performance standards. Members of AAAMSA are established specialists in the materials supply, design, manufacture and insta... llation of architectural aluminium products. They have to comply with AAAMSA standards by subjecting their products to rigorous tests in AAAMSA test rigs throughout the country. Test performance certificates confirm the adequacy of designs. This Selection Guide, revised from the 1986 edition, describes standards and test procedures used. AAAMSA offers to specifiers an advisory and information service and has an expert opinion panel giving impartial advice on architectural aluminium installation. Specifiers in the industry are encouraged to call the AAAMSA office for advice on product selection and assessment. AAAMSA also maintains extensive contacts with other trade and national technical organisations to establish in the fenestration industry as a whole, irrespective of material used in manufacture, a set of performance standards which are consistent, fair an acceptable to industry and specifiers alike.Read More
