Range is a regional telecommunications cooperative serving southeastern Montana and northeastern Wyoming through a unified network of broadband and voice services. Established in 1953 as a non-profit cooperative, Range has grown through strategic acquisitionsincluding the 1991 purchase of Dubois Telephone Exchange, Inc., the 1993 acquisition of six... teen Wyoming exchanges from US West, and the 1997 formation of Advanced Communications Technology, Inc.to become a comprehensive communications provider across an eleven-county region spanning six Montana counties (Rosebud, Treasure, Custer, Powder River, Carter, and Big Horn) and five Wyoming counties (Campbell, Johnson, Weston, Sheridan, and Crook). In 2020, Range consolidated its four operating entities under a single brand to streamline operations and enhance customer experience, creating an integrated network platform that combines engineering, construction, project management, operations, and network maintenance expertise. Today, Range serves over 13,000 broadband subscribers across more than 30 communities and operates over 4,700 miles of fiber-optic network infrastructure. The company employs more than 160 communications specialists with deep expertise in network design, construction, and maintenance, supported by executive leadership with a combined 150 years of industry experience. Range maintains regional offices in Forsyth, Montana; Sheridan, Wyoming; Worland, Wyoming; and Dubois, Wyoming, positioning the company to deliver localized service and support across its service territory.
