Quintek Measurement Systems (QMS) designs and manufactures precision x-ray based measurement equipment primarily for the forest products industry. Incorporated in the state of Tennessee in 1995, QMS has achieved over $3 million in sales, from the highly successful QDP-01X density profiler and the QTRS-01X tree ring scanner. The QDP is used by the c... omposite panel industry to measure the density profile of panelboard products, and has been installed in 55 facilities with locations in the United States, Canada, South America, Europe, and Australia. But the QDP has been found useful in many other industries outside of forest products. With the capability of checking the quality of any material the QDP has expanded into the automotive and Continued customer service after the sale and installation is a major focus for QMS. QMS does warranty service, repair service, and offers training either at the customer's site or at the QMS facility. QMS offers density profiling on an individual sample basis for companies that are considering investing in a profiler. Listening to our customers has always been a QMS edict. In working with plant personnel, QMS identified operating characteristics for its density profiler useful in a production environment: * The profiler must be easy to operate on a routine basis by the shift quality control personnel. * The profiler must accept a number of samples (batch) at once and analyze them with without constant operator supervision. * The profiler must produce results very fast, within minutes, so that information can be available for use in controlling the product line. * The profiler must produce accurate, repeatable measurements of both density and the density profile. * The profiler should include some method of checking, or proving, the density measurement. * The profiler must be very reliable and industrially hard.
