Queen City Contras

The Queen City Contra Dance has been a fixture in the Burlington area for over thirty years. The dance is organized and supported by a lively community of dancers, musicians and callers. Queen City Contras is a Burlington-based non-profit that provides fun, high-quality contra dancing with live music and calling to sustain a longstanding New Englan... d tradition. We are members of the Country Song and Dance Society (CDSS). The following values are shared by the QCC Organizing Committee: Contra dancing is a fun, social, and healthy activity that is open to individuals and families of all ages. The QCC dance is welcoming to beginners and is attractive to more experienced dancers. Contra dancing builds and maintains community among dancers and performers. A committee of volunteers organizes the dance and meets approximately every other month. A larger community of volunteers help to set up the dance, clean up afterwards, collect admission, host out-of-town performers, and spread the word about whats happening.Read More
