Quartz Hill AYSO

Quartz Hill AYSO was founded in 1988. Our "area" covers the West side of Palmdale, West side of Lancaster and the Northwest corner of Los Angeles County. There are no boundaries in AYSO, so players can play for any Region they desire, Quartz Hill, Lancaster, or Palmdale. Our primary playing location is Lane Park and Joe Walker Middle School. These... two sites are co-located at Ave L-8 and 55 th St West. We also use Palmdales Hillside Park at Ave N and 50 th St West, and Hillview Middle School on Rancho Vista Blvd (just down the road from Hillside Park). We use many of the Westside Union School Districts schools for practices during the season. In addition to the aforementioned venues we also use Marie Kerr Park located at Rancho Vista Boulevard and 30th street west. We have grown from about 250 players the first year to over 2000 players during the 2006 season. Our players ages vary from 4 to 18 years of age. About 49% of our players are girls, and in fact the number of girls exceed the boys in the older divisions. Our normal Region playing season is between Labor Day and Thanksgiving. Practices will start in mid August and Region and higher play-offs can extend the season for some players through the first weekend in March. Quartz Hill AYSO is one of well over 1,000 Regions under the nationally organized American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO). AYSOs mission is to develop and deliver quality youth soccer programs where everyone builds positive character through participation in a fun family environment based on the AYSO philosophies. Everyone Plays, all players must play at least the game (Quartz Hill specifies that all players must also be allowed to play ¾ of the game for 5 games during the season, see region guidelines for exact conditions).
